The towering pylons 120ft high.  Formally opened in 1936.  Picture shows dying soldier at the bottom passing a torch to his comrade.

 

 

The Vimy Memorial to the missing.  Commemorates  the missing Canadians who fell in France - 11,285 solidiers. Situated on Hill 145.

 

Looking from the memorial across the terrain.  The photograph does not do the view justice.  The terrain still  resembles the surface of the moon.

 

In the trenches.  Created in 1926 by veteran soldiers who wished to preserve some of the trench lines by using sandbags filled with concrete.
