Massive Shell Find on the Salient - Picked up from Reuters Mon April 26, 2004

The Belgian army clearing more than 4,000 grenades uncovered in a field in western Flanders, the scene of heavy fighting during World War One.  The World War One grenades were found during the draining of a field in Moorslede, close to the town of Ypres. There were around 4,000 grenades of all kinds, gas, conventional, British, German... in 2 ammunition dumps.

Belgians are constantly reminded of the war - it is not over yet.
